Gooooood Morning

After a Friday of running beagles, and a Saturday of walking on the ice, Sunday is looking pretty darn good right now. Have had the dogs out a couple of times, the coffee is just about done, and just cracked the Sunday Freep.
In the Local section, (section B) there is a nice read, by columnist Peggy Walsh-Sarnecki. Its all about getting out of the house and enjoying the winter ice experience. Although it encompasses all things related to winter sports, it does touch on fishing on the hardwater. It touches on some tools of the fishermen, but really just talks basics and what people are missing by putting up there rods and reels some winter.
I like the concept of staying out all day, that I bring my CLAM 5600 out with me and use if for a base camp. Its not exactly grumpy old men, but when gone for a week its worth taking out, loading up the grill and chicken and ribs and turning the ice into a picnic spot. Besides, five to 20 feet away are my tip ups, sometimes you just have to put the lid back on the Weber and tend to business.
Its just another experience that can be shared with others during Michigan’s changing seasons. Each season has something wonderful to see and experience. Now if the guy who actually is supposed to be writing about the outdoors in that paper could focus a little bit, the sport section would have a bonus read from time to time. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
