MarCum also offers some accessories for their units, and other items to enhance an angler’s fishing experience
I have mentioned the importance of battery maintenance, over and over again this week. It really is the only thing you need to do with the flasher type units to keep your unit functioning normally. The DCS-100 is a good system for keeping your battery fresh and ready to go for the next outing. Fully digital, with an LCD display that gives the person charging a percentage reading of the status of the battery. The charger brings the battery up to charge, and then shuts down to a level that maintains the battery while I hooked up. It is really nice to be able to charge the units, then if not done by time you hit the sack, just sleep and disconnect it in the morning. I would not leave it on for days on end, but definitely works overnight with no worries. There are other chargers available, but this is really the way you want to go, and is worth the extra 30-35 bucks if you don’t have one with your unit.
MarCum aslo offers two neat (there I said it again) types of gear storage items. This one is a rod storage packpack type case. You can aslo get some other gear like gear, cell phones of GPS units inside the case in special pouches designed for them. The second item does the same thing, but offers a twist for the ice angler on the move. At the bottom of the case there is a larger reinforced pouch to store your flasher. Just another way to keep your hands free for other things like you spud which is essential for checking ice in front you while walking. Unfortunately the picture of this item didn’t come up on the webpage, but you can visit the site to see more.
